Do you know who wrote the first three quotes? No, you don’t – no one knows who wrote those lines because those first three people did not go on to achieve anything. However, the last one was written by Muhammad Ali – the greatest boxer off all time. The only thing that separates all of these people is CONFIDENCE.

We all have dreams and aspirations but most of us fail because we lack the confidence to believe in our own potential. People who are naturally confident and can use that to their potential are few and far between. Most of us must learn it, and then have the confidence to use it.

There are many paths towards building confidence, ours is building confidence thorough martial arts. So how can the Martial Arts help you find your confidence?

There are different scenarios, but let’s explore one;

  • When you first start you might be feeling that you are a capable person, and in your head, you can see yourself achieving in this art. However, your physical body doesn’t match your thoughts, so your confidence drops a notch or two. At this point you either quit (like many students do in the first few months) or persevere. If you persevere the martial arts will build you to a fitness level that withstands the physical challenges, so your confidence goes up again.
  • After you overcome your physical challenges, martial arts teach you how to coordinate your body. This triggers your self-belief system and you begin to realise that you can actually live the dream. Your confidence level keeps going up.
  • With continued practice through martial arts you will experience a progression which builds your ultimate power. The progression starts with your physical body and your physical body transports your newfound skills and coordination to your mind, manipulating your thought system to realise you are actually pretty good. Your mind then passes this realisation to your self-belief system, resulting in your emotions becoming more positive and you knowing that you can do this! In fact you will begin to understand that you can probably achieve even more, and ultimately without even realising it you become CONFIDENT to be the best YOU can BE.

Yes, it is that simple. Remember – when you find your confidence you become unstoppable! You will be able to tap into that positive power that takes you from being you to being YOU.

How do I get started?

Premier Martial Arts and Fitness Academy is open Monday to Sunday, and our martial arts classes are available for kids, teens and adults on weekdays and also on the weekend. You don’t have to be in shape and there is no prior experience necessary.
