ADVENTURES & EXPERIENCES

Adventures & Experiences

Premier Martial Arts and Fitness Academy aims to help its student develop into well-rounded and valuable members of their community. We do this by providing additional opportunities beyond the Academy for students to demonstrate the characteristics developed through their martial arts training – the transferable qualities of determination, confidence, strength, self-belief, discipline and commitment. These outside events include training camps, adventure retreats, charity programs and mountain climbs.
CulturalTrip
Training Camp
Premier Academy runs training camps for its students each year. These are held locally, around Western Australia, interstate or even overseas. These training camps may be based on particular aspects of martial arts training, or designed to give students an overall training and cultural experience. Previous training camps have been held in locations such as Yongin University in South Korea and Macedonia. These camps are of immense benefit to students, and create memories that will last a lifetime.
Adventure Retreats
In addition to martial arts training, Premier Academy students often take on other physical challenges to test themselves. One such challenge sees groups from Premier regularly complete multi-day hikes on the Bibbulmun Track, pushing themselves to finish sections at a rapid pace. Teams of Premier students also take part in events such as the Relay for Life each year to raise funds for Cancer research. This is just another way that we encourage our students to make a positive contribution to the wider community

Mountain Climbs
Premier Academy has a small, but growing, group of instructors and students who are keen to climb at least one mountain on every continent! They have already trekked to Mt Everest Base Camp (5 364m) and climbed to the top of Mt Kilimanjaro (5 895m). The next adventure planned is to South America in 2020 to climb at least one peak over 6 000m! The climbing teams train and prepare for months in advance, in order to be in peak physical condition for the climbs. These climbs are done as part of the Academy’s ongoing commitment to raise funds to battle childhood cancer through the Telethon Institute.
Charity Programs
Premier Academy has been raising money to support the fight against childhood cancer since 2009. This has been done through fun runs, kick-a-thons, charity balls, auctions, fight nights, trekking and mountain climbs! In that time we have raised over $100 000 which has gone to support research, cancer patients in Ward 3B at Princess Margaret Hospital and their families. The team at Premier firmly believe that taking part in charity fundraising is an important part of encouraging our students to make positive changes in the world around them.
